School Health Programme
School health screenings are being carried out once a year for children age group of 6 -18 years for Govt. and Govt Aided schools by the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team under National Health Mission (NHM) whereby the height and weight of the children are being measured and recorded.
Referral cards are maintained for students who need to be referred to the nearest Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), District Hospitals and District Early Intervention Centres if children are diagnosed with any of the 4Ds such as Defects at Birth, Deficiencies, Diseases and Developmental Delays.
Iron and Folic acid tablets are being given weekly to school students under Weekly Iron Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFS) program whereas de-worming tablets are being given twice a year to the students (in the months of April and October).
Spectacles are being distributed to those children with refractive errors and vitamin A is being given to those children having vitamin A deficiency.
